Woman attempts to smuggle shabu into QC jail for boyfriend

MANILA — The Quezon City police arrested a woman for trying to smuggle in drugs to her jailed live-in partner on Wedneday.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, Chief Supt. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr., said Joan Dela Cruz, 41, of Barangay Balon Bato, was arrested around 2:45 a.m. as she attempted to visit her live-in partner, Crisencio Tismo, who was being detained at the Talipapa Police Station 3. She said she was bringing him food.

Tismo was arrested last month, also for illegal drugs.

During a mandatory body check, dela Cruz yielded a sachet of “shabu” in her pocket that led to her arrest.

Meanwhile, the QCPD also reported that 2,173 persons were apprehended for violating the city’s ordinances from 5 a.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Most of the arrests were for smoking in public place and jaywalking.

The violators faced fines, reprimands or charges for their offenses. Benjamin Pulta/PNA-northboundasia.com
