Widow nabbed for child abuse

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — A 50-year-old widow on Saturday was arrested for alleged child abuse in Barangay Marana 2nd here.

Police Supt. Manuel Bringas, Ilagan City police chief, said Marta (the widow’s hidden name), a native of Bliss Village in Ilagan, has been previously indicted for allegedly maltreating a relative.

Judge Andrew Barcena, Regional Trial Court-Branch 17 judge, earlier issued the arrest warrant for the accused for child abuse charges or for violating RA 7610 under Criminal Case No. 7258.

Ilagan City police with Isabela intelligence operatives and Criminal Investigation and Detection Team-Isabela agents hatched and implemented the arrest on the accused.

The accused has been asked to post Php 80,0000 bailbond. She has been under court commitment because she has yet to post bail, as of this writing. Villamor Visaya Jr./PNA/northboundasia.com
