LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — At least 35 small and one big sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu were seized in a raid by the police in the house of a village councilor of Bani town on Wednesday, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) announced Thursday.
Arrested when lawmen served a search warrant at his residence was Philip Ramones, incumbent village councilor of Ambabaay, Bani, tagged as a high-value target on illegal drugs in the town.
The operation was covered by a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) branch 70 in Burgos town.
Chief Inspector Amor Mio Somine, chief of police of Bani, said Ramones was a drug surrenderer who went back to his illegal operation.
Also seized from the house of Ramones were drug paraphernalia, including three lighters.
The operation after a period of surveillance was authorized by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 1 in San Fernando City, La Union.
The manhunt for the other drug personalities of the town, believed to be cohorts of the arrested suspect, is continuing, Somine said. Leonardo Micua/PNA-northboundasia.com
