URDANETA CITY — The barangay captain of Pinmaludpod here and his driver were killed by unidentified gunmen who opened fire on them at about 11:35 a.m. Thursday along the national highway on Zone 2 in their village while they were on board a Montero Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
The victims were identified in a report of the Urdaneta City police as barangay captain Bartolome Andrada, listed as high- value target drug personality of the city, and his driver Johnny Barlon.
Their assailants were reportedly motorcycle-riding criminals.
Also killed simultaneously as a result of that incident was Consuelo Ramirez, 74, widow, while her son Moises Ramirez, 27, was injured and hospitalized.
The mother and son were pinned down when the car driven by Barlon swerved to the left lane of the road and eventually hit a canteen which the mother and son were tending at the time.
All the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where Andrada, Barlon and Consuelo Ramirez were declared dead on arrival. Moises Ramirez is still undergoing treatment in the same hospital.
Police recovered one caliber 45 pistol Llama Max- 1 magnum, one caliber 22 revolver, and different kinds of ammunition from the Montero SUV of Andrada.
Also recovered were three pieces of fired cartridges of caliber 45 pistol,ammunition, and another two fired bullets of caliber 45.
