CEBU CITY — Vice President Jejomar Binay will be joining the Cebuanos in celebrating the Sinulog grand parade this Sunday, suspended Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said.
Rama, who is serving a 60-day suspension imposed by the Office of the President, said he invited the vice president when he came to Cebu last Sunday.
Rama said Binay will be among the few very important people at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) grandstand during the Sinulog grand parade.
The more than 40 dancing contingents will perform for the ritual showdown on a stage in from the CCSC grandstand on Sunday.
Rama said he did not invite another one to avoid trouble.
But Rama said they are expecting more politicians to visit the city during the festivity because this is an election year.
Rama said Binay will be allowed to speak during the program inside the CCSC because he is the vice president.
Rama said candidates will not be barred from visting, but they should not place their political advertisements in the Sinulog parade route. PNA / northboundasia.com
