CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A kitchen fire almost gobbled up the residence of a lawmaker here while nine other houses were razed Thursday evening, the fire investigators said.
A heated oil-filled pan burst into a fireball in the kitchen of the residential house of Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, almost gobbled the lawmaker’s house here.
Three volunteer fire trucks owned by various business groups rushed to the house of Rodriguez but had to run toward another fire alarm after the fire in the lawmaker’s house was put off by alert households.
The three fire trucks ran toward an urban village in Carmen, Cagayan De Oro City only to join among the half dozen fire trucks that stuck on the street due to traffic jam.
Nine houses were razed in the village of Macanhan in a fire that brought half-a-dozen fire trucks toward the fire scene past 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the village.
Fire investigators are investigating whether the fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring since the fire took place an hour after the rotating brownout hit the village Thursday.There was no report of injuries on both fires that occurred during the rotating brownouts here. PNA
