DUMAGUETE CITY – A surrenderer under Oplan Tokhang was nabbed when he rammed into a tricycle while trying to evade an Highway Patrol Group (HPG) anti-carnapping operations here on Tuesday.
HPG provincial team leader Sr. Insp. Robelito Mariano said his team flagged down Ray-an Inoferio who was driving a motorcycle without side mirrors and using modified mufflers.Instead of stopping, Inoferio accelerated his motorcycle and entered the one-way traffic along Real Street Tuesday afternoon. However, he rammed into a tricycle and was thrown several meters away.
Inoferio, a surrenderer under Oplan Tokhang, is a resident of Tinago, Poblacion 1 in this city. He could not present any documents for his motorcycle aside from driving without a license.
In an interview, Inoferio said he was with another motorist carrying an undetermined grams of suspected shabu placed inside a backpack. His companion managed to sped away because the HPG concentrated on chasing Inoferio.
He is now facing charges for disobedience and resisting arrest in violation of Section 151 of the Revised Penal Code aside from a bunch of traffic rules violations. Juancho Gallarde/PNA-northboundasia.com
