There’s possible threat on arrested crime lab colonel’s life — Dela Rosa

MANILA — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Monday said there’s a possible threat on the life of Supt. Lito Cabamongan, the chief of the Crime Laboratory satellite office in Antipolo City who was arrested in Las Pinas City for allegedly using shabu.

Dela Rosa, in a press conference in Camp Crame, Quezon City, said those who could possibly want Cabamongan to be killed are not policemen, but rather, the inmates whom he had kicked inside the cell where he is detained.

This was the reaction of Dela Rosa after Cabamongan told members of the media that he was fearing for his life and that he might get killed inside the detention cell like what happened to Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Jr.

Cabamongan, who was detained in Las Pinas City police station no. 6, was seen as kicking his co-inmates and even boasted he cannot be subdued as he is a “black belter”.

He was initially tested positive in the drug test conducted in Camp Crame last week.

The PNP chief assured that once Cabamongan is proven in the confirmatory test to be using shabu, he will be immediately placed under summary dismissal proceedings. Perfecto Raymundo/PNA-northboundasia.com
