Task force formed to help displaced colorum tricycle drivers

DAGUPAN CITY – A task force was formed by the Public Service Employment Office (PESO) here to help tricycle drivers displaced by the city government’s “Oplan Zero Colorum” that has already impounded some 70 tricycles sans issued franchises.

PESO Manager Joy Siapno said the task force will assist drivers of colorum units in seeking better options instead of plying the streets and putting themselves at risk of paying fines and impoundment of their units.

Siapno said at least eight tricycle drivers have already been properly informed by the PESO on job vacancies available locally and abroad and advised to submit their respective filled out bio-data forms.

“Once they do this, we will refer them to the companies that will need their skills, said Siapno.

The Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) launched the “Oplan Zero Colorum” in a bid to clear the streets of Dagupan as studies showed these colorum units are contributing to the congestion of many city thoroughfares. PNA-northboundasia.com
