Tarlac governor asks police to continue fight against illegal drugs

CAPITOL HILL, Tarlac — Governor Susan Yap has asked Tarlac police officials and personnel to continue fighting the illegal drug menace that is affecting not only the province but the whole country as well.

The governor’s directive was in accordance with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s all-out-war against criminality and the proliferation of illegal drugs.

“The president’s message was very clear—fight drugs and criminality,” Yap told the police, adding that, “you are the guide and hands in the President’s desire to rid the entire nation of all forms of criminality.”

The governor, together with Police Senior Superintendent Westrimundo Obinque, presented a certificate of recognition to the uniformed personnel of Tarlac Police Provincial Office (TPPO) for their exemplary performance of duties.

Obinque said that their accomplishment is in line with the thrust of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.

“Such accomplishment speaks well of the police officer’s dedication and commitment to eradicate illegal drugs and drug personalities in the province in line with the thrust of the PNP,” he said.

Since July 1, TPPO has conducted 25 drug operations in the province and has listed 6,158 drug users and pushers who yielded to the police.

They have also arrested 28 persons linked to illegal drugs while 12 others were killed in the operations. PNA/ northboundasia.com
