Surveys are no match against facts on the ground–Binay

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Vice President Jejomar Binay, United Nationalist Alliance presidential candidate, expressed belief that the warm response he gets from people on the ground means more than the published results of surveys which sometimes go up and down.

“Okay lang yon, basta ako natutuwa sa reality, kung ano yong nakikita ko, yon ang reality (It’s okay (survey), I’m so happy of what I’ve seen in reality),” Binay told reporters here yesterday referring to the warm response of the people in his sorties in the provinces.binaysfc031416_03

Latest survey result conducted by the Social Weather Station (SWS) showed that independent presidential bet Sen. Grace Poe got 27 percent, Binay has 24 percent, administration candidate Mar Roxas got 22 percent, while Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte goes down to 21 percent, and Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago got four percent.

Binay said he recognized the latest survey result, saying that it would serve as wake-up call for him.

“Ang layo ng deperensya ng survey sa reality. Pero yan ay wake-up call sa atin (There is a wide difference between survey and the reality. But it (survey result) would serve as wake-up call for us),” he said.
