CALACA, Batangas — Five persons were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital while only one survived of the group of six who went swimming in Sinisian Village here yesterday.
Chief Insp. Telesforo G. Domingo, Calaca police chief, identified the fatalities as Lorenz Kyle Satin Boa , 11, student; Jimson Manalo Boa , 17, student; Lazaro Castro Boa , 20, single, construction worker; John Joseph Boa Mendoza , 23, single, and Herminigildo Mendoza De Castro , 21, single, student and the lone survivor as Christian Mark Boa Vergara , 15, student, all residents of Talaga Village in the nearby Lemery town.
Investigation reports disclosed that the victims were not aware of the deep portion of the sea while swimming.
The ensuing commotion as the group cried for help and tried to resist submerging to the deep water called the attention of the residents and relatives near the shore and rescued them.
Although the victims were given first aid, five did not make it and were pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Divine Landicho at Don Mayuga Provincial Hospital in Lemery town.
Vergara, who survived and was confined at the hospital is reportedly in stable condition . PNA/northboundasia.com
