Sultan Kudarat PNP arrest 7 persons in anti-illegal drug operation

KORONADAL CITY — Police in Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat arrested six persons during anti-illegal drug buy bust operation Saturday night while another drug personality was nabbed Sunday dawn at a police checkpoint in nearby town, police said.

Police identified the suspects during the 11 p.m. drug buy bust in Barangay Poblacion, Lutayan town as Karl Besares, 21; student Christopher Paragat, 20; Ivan Jaca Lucas, 23; Maritime student France Maamod, 19, all residents of Barangay San Jose, Koronadal City; criminology student Kathlyn Agustillo, 20 of Lutayan and a 15-year-old boy.

Police agents recovered four small sachets of shabu, a motorbike, buy bust money and shabu paraphernalia.

The suspects are now detained at Lutayan PNP lock up cell.

Meanwhile in President Quirino, also in Sultan Kudarat, police agents, led by town police chief Senior Inspector Joan Resurreccion, arrested at 3 a.m. the town’s most wanted man in illegal drug business.

Resurreccion identified the suspect as Surab Usop, 45, a resident of nearby Mangudadatu town in Maguindanao.

Police operatives were conducting anti-drug police checkpoint in Barangay Banawag when Usop, on board a motorbike without license plate, tried to avoid lawmen.

When flagged down, Usop showed restiveness that led police agents to become suspicious.

Seized from him was a cal. 45 pistol with six bullets, five sachets of shabu and a motorbike.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and illegal possession of firearms are being prepared against Usop who is now detained at the town’s lock up cell. PNA-northboundasia.com
