STRAY BULLET HITS 2-YEAR-OLD BOY, 15 FIRECRACKER-RELATED INJURIES IN NORTHERN MINDANAO

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -– A two-year-old boy survived a stray bullet while 15 other firecracker-related injuries have been reported on New Year’s Eve in Northern Mindanao.

The report said Rio Bolivar was playing inside their house in Tagolo-an, Misamis Oriental, when he suddenly slumped on the floor.

The boy’s mother Lilet noticed blood dripping on his son’s left body, which doctors later found out to be that of a stray bullet.

The boy underwent an operation and was now declared out of danger.

Government authorities also reported a total of 15 firecracker-related injuries in Northern Mindanao — seven were in Misamis Oriental, which took place in the component cities of Gingoog City with six and El Salvador, one.
