MANILA, Philippines — The Sta. Rosa City Prosecutor’s Office has summoned one of the suspects, who has surrendered, in the killing of Pearl Helene Sta. Ana and her one-year-old son Denzel.
Aside from Ramoncito Galo, Sta. Rosa City Assistant City Prosecutor Oscar Co also subpoenaed Richard Sta. Ana, the husband of the slain woman.
The preliminary investigation of the case was supposed to be conducted on Friday, but it was deferred after the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), which serves as the lawyer of the respondents in the case, filed a motion seeking that they be given sufficient time to prepare the counter-affidavit of Richard Sta. Ana.
Hence, the Sta. Rosa City Prosecutor’s Office set the hearing on April 15, 2016.
Meanwhile, newly-appointed Sta. Rosa City Chief Prosecutor Cesar Calubag on Friday gave assurances that he will focus on the hearing to be conducted by their office and that due process of law will be observed during the hearing of the case.
Galo earlier pinned down Richard Sta. Ana as behind the killing of his own family. PNA/northboundasia.com
