Special recruitment for Filipino professionals, skilled workers set April 27-28

LAOAG CITY — Filipino professionals and skilled workers wanting to work abroad are invited to submit their credentials in a special recruitment activity to be held at the Ilocos Norte Capitol auditorium on April 27-28.

Ann Marie Lizette Bitancor, head of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO)of Ilocos Norte announced the Bison Management Corporation made a request for the conduct of a two-day special recruitment activity here, urging qualified Ilocano workers to apply.

Among the most in demand jobs abroad include registered nurses, caregivers and highly skilled workers to be deployed in Europe, Australia, Middle East and Canada, among others.

Bitancor said interested applicants may just prepare and submit their duly filled out resume and other credentials or visit the PESO office or website for inquiries.

While promoting Ilocos Norte as an investment hub to create more job opportunities for Ilocanos, the provincial government envisions that migration should become an alternative or a choice and not the only option for families here to have a better life.

Through an aggressive employment campaign, Task Force Trabaho, a flagship program of Ilocos Norte generated over 50,000 jobs. This resulted to a decrease of 4.2 percent in provincial unemployment rate, making Ilocos Norte the least poor province in Region 1 with 15 percent poverty incidence rate in 2016.
