SM ROSALES AWARDS WINNERS IN DRUM AND LYRE STUDENT CONTEST

ROSALES, Pangasinan – As part of its 7th anniversary celebration, the SM Rosales branch here held “Drum, Beat and Roll,” a drum and lyre competition participated in by groups of elementary students from Pangasinan, La Union and Tarlac.

The students showcased their skills and talents in playing the instruments in a 12-minute performance given to each band, a showdown that took place inside the SM mall.

Roselle Gale, SM public information officer, said that the “Drum, Beat and Roll” contest was aimed at enhancing the students’ musical skills and individual talents.

Bagging the top prize of P25,000 and a trophy was the group from the San Felipe Elementary School; second place and receiving a cash prize of P20,000 and a trophy was Sta. Barbara Elementary School, while third-place winner, Narciso Ramos Elementary School, received cash of P15,000 and a trophy. ERWIN G. BELEO/northboundasia.com
