BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan –- Local and international kiteboarders have started to arrive in this resort island for the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) Philippine Kiteboarding Tour Season 4.
At least 100 participants are expected to join the event.
The three-day event which will start Saturday, is part of the third leg of the international kiteboarding tour organized by the Philippine Kiteboarding Association.
The international sports event will be held in Bulabog Beach, located on the opposite side of Boracay’s more famous White Beach. Bulabog is known as a sports area for its strong winds suited for kite activities.
Male and female kiteboarders from all over the world will compete in the following categories: twin tip race (masters), novice twin tip race, freestyle and hangtime.
This year’s tour kicked off in Cuyo Island, Palawan on November of last year and continued in Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island in Cebu last January 13 to 15.
After Boracay, the tour will finish at Cagbalete Island in Mauban, Quezon. PNA-northboundasia.com
