CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. personally turned over on Friday generator sets and water pumps to the local government units of Isabela in his visit to this province.
The province’s northern Isabela towns were hard-hit by Super Typhoon Lawin last week, leaving the LGUs in total blackout.
Marcos said power is very important to LGUs to function normally and the water pumps are also essential to typhoon-affected farmers.
Senator Marcos said the generator sets and water pumps are only initial assistance of his office as he vowed to bring more in the province as well as other provinces in northern Luzon that were hit by the destructive typhoon.
The state weather bureau last week raised Typhoon Signal No. 5 in the provinces of Isabela, Cagayan, Kalinga, Apayao and Ilocos Norte before Super Typhoon Lawin hit northern Luzon.
The northern Isabela towns that received the generators sets are the towns of Tumauini, Cabagan, Santa Maria, Santo Tomas, and San Pablo and personally received by the local chief executives.
Meanwhile, the province of Dinagat Island represented by Vice Governor Ben Glenn Ecleo also personally turned over P1 million cash assistance to the provincial government as aid to typhoon victims in Isabela.
Officials of the provincial government expressed thanks to Senator Marcos and Vice Governor Ecleo, saying their concern to Isabelinos is very much appreciated. PNA – northboundasia.com
