Search for Miss Teen Philippines America beauty contest for 2017 is on

MANILA — The search is on for the 2017 Miss Teen Philippines-America beauty contest, the Migrant Heritage Commission (MHC) announced on Saturday.

Grace Valera, MHC co-director, told PNA that this will be 32nd year that the annual contest will be held open to all Filipina-Americans residing in the United States.

Qualified to join are Filipino-American female teenagers between the age of 14 and 19, smart, talented and beautiful,” she said.

Valera said there are no fees to join and those who are qualified will be trained to walk/model and speak.

“It’s the longest-running FIL-AM teenage pageant in the US capital region and the US East Coast organized since 1985 by the Ilocano Society of America or ISA,” Valera said.

“Poise, grace and beauty (inside & out) will be emphasized always, coupled with leadership skills enhancement, transforming them into being more confidently beautiful with a heart and as leaders of tomorrow,” Valera, who is also the Miss Teen chair organizer, pointed out..

She said that pageant’s contestants will attend the World Youth Assembly at the United Nations (UN) in New York City which will also be attended by over 500 youth delegate leaders from all over the world representing over 90 countries..

The winner of the Miss Teen Philippines-America will be known during the Memoral day weekend to be held at Fairview Park Marriot Hotel, Falls Church Virginia on May 28. Ben Cal/PNA-northboundasia.com
