Santiago City turning former school building to 300-bed rehab center

SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela — A 300-bed capacity building, used as school building of Isabela State University – Santiago City campus, is undergoing renovation since city executives plan to use it as a rehabilitation center.

The building is located at Balintocatoc, several kilometers away from the city proper.

Mayor Jospeh Tan, earlier, said that with the relentless anti-illegal drugs operations of the police there are users who want to undergo rehabilitation to live a normal life.

He said the two-storey building is suitable for drug rehabilitation since it can accommodate a number of people, who will be safeguarded through, among others, a perimeter fence.

He said the City Health Office will oversee the operations of the rehabilitation center, which is set to formally open at the end of this month. PNA/
