S. Korean president orders alert status raised for entire nation

SEOUL — South Korean President Park Geun Hye on Thursday ordered the raising of the alert status for the entire nation, following North Korea’s bellicose threats in recent days, according to the presidential office.

The president “said the alert status for the entire nation should be heightened and that the people should be well prepared for any contingency,” senior press secretary Kim Seong Woo told reporters.
