CAMP BGEN OSCAR M. FLORENDO –- Region 1 police director Chief Superintendent Gregorio R. Pimentel ordered all police units under his command to intensify their operations and be vigilant to ensure public safety services to the community before, during and after the observance of “Undas” or All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Pimentel, PRO1’s (Police Regional Office 1) Regional Director, also ordered the deployment of PNP personnel from the regional and provincial headquarters to the police stations as augmentation in the conduct of route security, traffic management and preventive patrol operations effective October 29 to November 2, 2016.
“We need to double our security efforts and provide maximum deployment of our personnel to make sure that the various threat groups, local terrorists and criminal gangs cannot take advantage on the situation in carrying out their illegal activities,” PCSupt. Pimentel said.
Pimentel added that the Region 1 police, as in previous years, will be tapping the support of other government agencies, non-government organizations, volunteer groups and the local force multipliers in providing maximum security coverage and public safety services to include motorist assistance along major highways and traffic management along routes leading to cemeteries.
Moreover, Pimentel has designated Police Commissioned Officers as inspectors and supervisors who shall closely monitor and oversee the overall conduct of the operations in every province in coordination with the respective provincial directors.
Chief Supt. Pimentel also gave the assurance that continuous coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways, Local Government Units and other stakeholders is being conducted to ensure the successful implementation of “Oplan Kaluluwa 2016”.
He even advised the community to cooperate with the authorities and report immediately to the police any suspicious acts they may observe. PNA-northboundasia.com
