Rains continue over Luzon due to southwest monsoon

MANILA — Rains will continue to pour over parts of Luzon on Tuesday due to the southwest monsoon.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the southwest monsoon will bring rains over Cordillera and Central Luzon.
Metro Manila and the regions of Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms with at times strong, gusty winds in several areas for a short period.

Meanwhile, the low pressure area spotted 1,930 km east of southern Luzon is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday and is likely to develop into a tropical depression.

Temperature in Manila ranges from 24-30 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 23-32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-19 degrees Celsius; SBMA 23-28 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 27-32 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 27-33 and Davao City 25-33 degrees Celsius.  Lily Ramos / PNA – northboundasia.com
