QC councilors aim for top PCL national posts

MANILA – Quezon City Council Minority Leader Godofredo Liban II on Wednesday said he will vie for the presidency of the Philippine Councilors League when the legislators’ group holds elections on Aug. 8.

Liban is expected to file his candidacy on Aug. 5, the deadline for filing of candidacy, together with other city councilors running for other posts.

Among the QC councilors who intend to run for PCL posts are Councilor Eric Medina for vice president; Councilor Jose Mario “Don” De Leon for secretary; Councilor Kate Coseteng for PRO; and Councilors Allan Butch Francisco, Lena Marie Juico, Melencio “Bobby” Castelo, Donato Matias, Maria Aurora Suntay and Anthony Peter Crisologo, all for board members.

Councilor Victor Ferrer, Jr. was among the country’s city councilors who had been elected national president of PCL. Ferrer was PCL national president from 2007 to 2010.
