ILOILO CITY – President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday is expected to visit the wake of one of the soldiers killed in a recent armed encounter with the Abu Sayyaf group in Bohol.
This was confirmed by Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Aaron Palamo in an interview on Saturday.
Palomo said they have received a memorandum from the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame instructing them to prepare for the arrival of the President on Sunday as he would pay tribute to Corporal Meljun Cajaban in Leon, Iloilo and offer his condolences to the family.
With this, Palomo said that they have already started its preparations with the deployment of its police personnel.
