MANILA – President Rodrigo R. Duterte has assured the residents of Tondo, Manila that their lives will change for the better if they will cooperate and follow the government.
”At pangako ko sa inyo na kung kayo’y susunod lang sa gobyerno at makikipagtulungan sa amin, gagarantiyahan ko kayo na aangat ang buhay ninyo,” Duterte told at least 500 people who attended the solidarity dinner at Delpan Sports Complex in Tondo Thursday night.
President said that the funds of the government will go to the people through education, healthcare and agriculture sector development.
He added that he has already directed the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) to allot a big portion of the Pagcor’s annual income of at least PHP35 million for healthcare, particularly in buying medicines for poor patients.
To provide them with jobs and livelihood, President Duterte said he would put more funds in the establishment of small and medium industries through the “Go Negosyo” program.
He encouraged the Tondo residents, most of them poor, to work hard and do not be contented with their situation.
President Duterte, a mayor for 22 years of Davao City, said he has the new policy to open Malacanang to the public.
For those who have complaints, suggestions and other problems, President Duterte said the people can reach the government through public hotline 8888 provided by Smart and Globe.
Aaksyunan ko kaagad,” he assured.
With his determination to eradicate illegal drugs, President Duterte said that he will not hesitate to kill drug pushers who ruin the lives of many people. PNA / northboundasia.com
