ALAMINOS, Laguna — Three members of a family were killed and their mother in critical condition when two unidentified gunmen barged in and shot the victims on Sunday evening while watching Bb. Pilipinas pageant on television inside their residence at San Benito Village here.
Police Sr. Insp. Reynaldo Vitto, chief of police, identified the dead victims as Judith Pampolina, 28, factory worker, Ferdinand Pampolina, 25, teacher, and his younger brother Jasper Pampolina, 21, graduating student, all residents of the said village.
Meanwhile, Pampolina matriarch Dinia, 62, retired teacher, sustained gushot wounds on the head and body and remained in critical condition at San Pablo City Medical Center while Ginneth Pampolina, 30, sustained leg injuries after jumping from the second floor of their house to seek help.
Police reports disclosed that while the Pampolina family, the father was not around, was watching Bb. Pilipinas pageant on television, two men barged inside their house and pointed their guns at the victims who tried to wrestled with the suspects and were fired upon. The suspect also entered the room of Judith and shot her at close range causing her instant death.
Accordingly, Ginneth, despite of leg injuries and Johna Perez Timbad, a visitor, who was inside the comfort room when the shooting occurred, managed to escape and asked for help from neighbors.
Likewise, the suspects wearing ski-masks, took the victims’ cellphones and Ipods and fled eating apples taken from the victims’ house.
Authorities looked at robbery as the motive while deeper investigation is being conducted. PNA/northboundasia.com
