POZORRUBIO, Pangasinan — Some 120 residents here joined the “Prayer Walk” organized by the pastors and ministers of Pozorrubio Evangelical Ministers Movement (PEMM) and the Pozorrubio police station (PPS) on Thursday amid increasing number of deaths due to vehicular accidents.

Chief Inspector Ryan Maningdo, chief of the Pozorrubio police, said four persons already died and and two others were severely injured due to vehicular accidents here from December 26, 2015 to January 25 of this year alone.

“We are saddened by the figures considering our town is just small so we came up with this activity,” said Manongdo.

He added the six victims were mostly from 17 to 24 years old.

The latest was the two pedestrians crossing the road who were hit by a Tamaraw FX.

The prayer walk was held 4 a.m. at the three boundaries of the town, Barangay Batakin for Sison, Barangay Rosario for Binalonan and Barangay Bilan for Manaoag.

“The purpose is to be united in prayers for the safety of the motorists, pedestrians and travelers,” said Manongdo.

Meanwhile, the Safe and Fair Election (SAFE) 2016 campaign of the Pozorrubio police was also launched today.

While the town is not included in the election watch list, Manongdo said it is but proper to ensure a safe and fair election. PNA/
