SAN FERNANDO CITY, November 23 (PIA) – Consumers of the La Union Electric Cooperative (LUELCO) won’t have power for up to eight hours on November 25, Wednesday, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said.
Lilibeth Gaydowen, NgCP’s corporate communication and public affairs officer for north Luzon, said the scheduled power interruption from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. on Wednesday will affect parts of La Union and Pangasinan.
In La Union, affected are towns of Caba, Tubao, Aringay, Agoo, Pugo, Rosario, Sto. Tomas, Naguilian, Burgos, Bagulin, parts of Bauang and San Fernando City. In Pangasinan, affected are some parts of Sison and San Fabian.
The power outage will pave way for the electric coop’s annual preventive maintenance and testing of 100 Mega Volt Amp (MVA) power transformer at Bauang Substation simultaneous with corrective maintenance along Bauang-San Fabian and Bauang-Naguilian 69 kiloVolt lines.
“Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion,” Gaydowen said. LUELCO customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled interruption. Joanne Namnama P. Dilim/PIA-1 La Union
