TUGUEGARAO CITY — The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has set an 11-hour power interruption tomorrow (Dec. 8) from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in some parts of Isabela, Cagayan and Kalinga towns.
Lilibeth Gaydowen, North Luzon Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Officer, said the power interruption will affect the franchises of Isabela Electric Cooperative (ISELCO 1) and entire Isabela Electric Cooperative II (ISELCO II), Cagayan Electric Cooperative (CAELCO) I & II and Kalinga Electric Cooperative (KAELCO).
Gaydowen said the NGCP maintenance crew will facilitate a safe stringing of the ongoing Santiago – Tuguegarao 230 kilovolt transmission line 2 project that will cross the energized Santiago–Tuguegarao 230 kilovolt transmission 1.
She said the Santiago–Tuguegarao 230kV transmission line 2 is one of the NGCP’s priority projects of the company.
It is constructed to benefit electric consumers of Isabela, Cagayan, Kalinga, and Apayao and the rest of Luzon grid.
“The additional line will play an important role in improving the quality and reliability of power transmitted to power customers (ISELCO I & II, CAGELCO I & II, and KAELCO, power generators and big industries) that will be delivered to households, offices, schools and businesses in these areas,” Gaydowen said.
She said the 118 circuit–kilometer line with a total of 335 steel towers span from Santiago City, Isabela to Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
She advised NGCP customers and the public to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled interruption. PNA
