Police nab drug pusher in Cauayan City

CAMP MARCELO A.ADDURU, Tuguegarao City — A drug personality in Cauayan City was arrested over the weekend in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Cauayan, Isabela.

Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) public information officer police superintendent Chevalier Iringan identified the arrested suspect as Prince Charles Parungao y Bentazal, 23 and a resident of Centro East, Santiago City.

Police report revealed that PNP Cauayan in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 2 (PDEA2) conducted the drug buy-bust operation against the suspect in Barangay Silawit in the said municipality. At about 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, the poseur buyer was able to buy one piece of heat sealed transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu from the suspect. During his arrest, the police recovered from Parungao’s direct possession and control another transparent plastic filled with white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, one PHP 1,000 marked money with serial number YP 654827 and two units of cellular phones. Recovered items were properly documented at the place of incident. The inventory of seized items was witnessed by the barangay officials, press and representative from the DOJ.

The suspect, now under the custody of the Cauayan Police Station, will be charged with the violation of R.A. 9165. PNA/northboundasia.com
