PNP’s intensified anti-illegal gambling drive nets 9 in Central Luzon

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Nine persons were arrested by police authorities following a series of anti-illegal gambling operations in different provinces of Central Luzon.

Police Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino, Police Regional Office-3 director, said the move is part of the intensified efforts to curb illegal gambling activities in the region as per directive of President Rodrigo Duterte.

President Duterte issued last week Executive Order (EO) No. 13 intensifying the government’s fight against all forms of illegal gambling.

Aquino said those arrested for different forms of illegal gambling activities were Matilde Manuel, 55, gambling financer/operator and resident of Barangay Culis, Hermosa and Nico Ombrog, 25, gambling operator and resident of Barangay Roosevelt, Dinalupihan, both in Bataan; Junmar Dizon, 44, jueteng collector and resident of Barangay Bitas, Arayat, Pampanga; Danilo Manalo, 50, of Barangay Virgen De Los Remedios, Bamban Tarlac; Joshua Zarcilla, ArJay Peralta, Tommy Gaulala, Rouando Booc and Edgardo Manaligod Jr. , all from San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan.

The police official commended the operating troops for their job well done as he vowed that the PRO-3 will continuously direct pro-active operations and reinforce its efforts to wipe out all form of criminal activities, including illegal gambling operations in order to achieve their pursuit for a safer Central Luzon.
