PNP monitoring police generals involved in illegal drug trade

MANILA — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa believes that there are still some active police generals who are involved in illegal drug trade in the country.

This was aside from the alleged involvement of former Police Regional Office-8 (PRO-18) Director Chief Supt. Asher Dolina, who was mentioned by Kerwin Espinosa, the alleged big time drug lord of Eastern Visayas, who has been receiving “SOP” or payola (bribe money) from him in exchange for “protection” during his testimony before the Senate last Wednesday.

In an interview, Dela Rosa said that they are now determining whether Dolina has already retired or is still in active service.

Dolina is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1983, who is a senior of Dela Rosa as he is a member of PMA Class 1986.

The PNP is currently monitoring the police officers one by one, who are in active service and involved in illegal drugs.

Dela Rosa also confirmed that they are also monitoring the retired police generals who are involved in illegal drug trade in the country. Perfecto Raymundo/PNA-northboundasia.com
