LAOAG CITY -— Traffic enforcers and signages will be more visible along Laoag’s major thoroughfares, intersections and university belt areas to ensure smooth flow of traffic particularly during rush hours.
In Laoag City, problems on traffic congestion were identified in 12 areas along JP Rizal street and Bacarra road with limited parking spaces for those who are going to shopping malls and supermarkets, food chains and the Central Elementary School.
The university belt areas or front of the Divine Word College of Laoag, Catterpillar school and provincial hospital, the intersection of Bacarra road and P. Gomez street as well as the Ablan Avenue leading to the Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trades, Ilocos Norte National High School, Northern Christian College and along Rizal St. to Ablan avenue intersection experience heavy traffic on weekdays from 7am to 8am and from 5pm to 6pm.
Traffic congestion is also getting worst in three other areas along the Nangalisan-Airport road intersection up to the stretch of Gilbert bridge, Robinsons Mall in neighboring San Nicolas town, Barangays San Lorenzo and San Pablo due to a long dragging road repair and the Manila North Road, Marcos Avenue intersection in Batac City.
