MANILA — The Philippine National Police Counter-Intelligence Task Force (PNP-CITF) has arrested two Pasig City policemen in an entrapment operation on Thursday night.
Arrested were PO3 Higino Dancel and SPO1 Johan Vega, both assigned at the Traffic Division of the Pasig City Police Office.
Chief Insp. Jewel Nicanor said that they received a call on Thursday morning from two complainants who claimed that they were being asked by the two policemen to give money in exchange for the immediate release of traffic incident report they were asking.
The two policemen allegedly asked for the amount reaching Php 10,000 or 10 percent of the Php 100,000 “insurance claim” from the victims.
The PNP-CITF conducted the entrapment operation on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Seized from the desk of Dancel was the “marked money” which proved that he received the money from the victims.
The two arrested policemen are facing robbery-extortion charges. PNA-northboundasia.com
