CAMP BADO DANGWA, LA TRINIDAD — Cordillera lawmen scored big anew against illegal drugs when they swooped down on marijuana plantations in the hinterlands of Benguet December 1 and 2.

According to Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-CAR) head, Chief Supt. Ulysses Abellera said the latest raid on December 3 was a “more forceful, intensive and unrelenting campaign against the cultivation and use of illegal drugs implemented region-wide.”

The raid was spearheaded by the members of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group (RAIDSOTG), the Bakun and Kibungan Municipal Police Stations, the Regional and Provincial Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-CAR).

The operatives trooped to marijuana plantations in the villages of Lubban and Kimayad, Barangay Kayapa, Bakun town, and in Lanipew, Tacadang, Kibungan town.

The team uprooted and destroyed a total of 15,600 fully grown marijuana plants, 3,000 marijuana seedlings, nine kilos dried marijuana stalks found and planted in 15 marijuana plantation sites with a total land area of 4,522 square meters.

The marijuana plants, seedlings and stalks have a total Dangerous Drug Board value of PHP4.375 million.

No propagator was arrested during the two-day raid.

Abellera stressed that the PNP campaign against all form of illegal drugs will continue to gain success especially with the community’s support. PNA
