PHL joins other nations in condemning North Korea’s latest missile launch

MANILA — The Philippine government joined the international community on Saturday in condemning North Korea’s missile launch on March 6, as they urged Pyongyang to end such “provocations.”

In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) claims that the Philippines “expresses very grave concern” over Pyongyang’s continuous launching of ballistic missile amid repeated calls from the international community to desist from doing so.

“The Philippines calls on Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to such acts of provocation as it violates UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, further raises tensions, and seriously undermines regional peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula,” DFA statement reads.

“We strongly reiterate our call on DPRK to comply with its international obligations under relevant UNSC resolutions and also call on DPRK to exercise restraint for the sake of peace and stability in the region,” it added. Sammy Martin/PNA-northboundasia.com
