PDEA, BCPO ARREST SUSPECTED BIG DRUG PUSHER IN BAGUIO, BENGUET

BAGUIO CITY — Just hours after burning of evidences at Camp Bado Dangwa on November 6, operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cordillera Regional Office and Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 6 arrested Patrick Roger Tamayo Catbagan, 28 of South Sanitary Camp, Baguio City for selling two sachets of suspected methamphetamine (shabu) worth PHP12,500 to members of the agencies posing as buyers.

Another suspect, Arman Dumpit managed to elude the arresting officers.

On Monday, PDEA information Officer Joseph Calulut said Catbagan is believed to be a member of a drug group operating in Baguio City and nearby La Trinidad, Benguet.

Catbagan was caught with eight more sachets of suspected methamphetamine with a total street value of PHP225,000.

The suspect is temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR detention facility and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”

Catbagan’s arrest came hours after the public destruction of PHP 6.9 million worth of illegal drugs which included marijuana, metamphetimine HCl, diazepam –- generic name, a tranquilizing muscle-relaxant drug used chiefly to relieve anxiety, nalbuphine HCl (Nubain) ampules and midazolam ampules. PNA
