PANGASINAN’S BINMALEY TOWN EYEING URBANIZATION

BINMALEY, Pangasinan — Urbanization is now blowing slowly but surely in the town of Binmaley, the acknowledged fish bowl of Pangasinan and Northern Luzon, to keep pace with its neighbors Dagupan in the east, Lingayen in the west and San Carlos City in the south.

This was bared by Mayor Simplicio Rosario who said that the year 2015 was another banner year in Binmaley where many infrastructure projects of big impact to the people of the town and the whole province were built.

Binmaley, a first class town, is the aquatic capital of Pangasinan, producing such products as bangus (milkfish), malaga (siganid), grouper (lapu-lapu), sea bass, shrimps, lobsters and other aquatic products.

Rosario cited one evidence of urbanization as the fully air-conditioned Binmaley Manpower and Development Center which was completed last year and became favorite place for important occasions for both government and private functions.

“It used to be a dream but with persistence and diligence in making it happen, it became a reality, said Rosario of the town’s manpower and development center.

To date, the municipal government is building what it calls Binmaley Arcade on a lot that used to be occupied by unsightly stalls that had already became eye sore if not fire hazard.

With the Binmaley Arcade, first phase of which is being financed by the local government and the second phase through a loan of the municipality with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), people and businesses will have a new place in the town to go.

At the same time, Rosario bared that a new modern public market will soon be built through another loan of the municipality with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).

Akin to a private mall, the new public market to be built is expected to be the model of its kind in facilities and services throughout Northern Luzon.

He assured the project to be pro-small businessmen as the rental will not be high, child-friendly and pro-senior citizens as marketgoers will be assisted in carrying what they had bought up to where they are taking a ride in going back home.

As to the traffic bottleneck along the highway that develops every market day of Binmaley, Rosario said plans are now afoot to relocate the parking area for motorized tricycles at the back of the market where they can not impede the flow of traffic anymore.

At the same time, Rosario announced that a new commercial center will soon rise in the heart of the town with the putting up of Primemark Binmaley Save More Market owned by ShoeMart (SM).

To be located on a lot of the municipality in front of the Binmaley Central School, the new commercial center will be serviced by an escalator as its second floor will be devoted to food court.

The first supermarket in Binmaley is the Magic Supermarket.

The coming of the big investors in Binmaley is a clear indication of the big trust and confidence of big investors to the leadership of the town.

He said the municipality will also put up a giant LED screen in the government billboard in front of the town market measuring 5.76 meters by 9.6 meters to be funded by DBP loan to make sure that people of Binmaley will feel as if they are now living in a highly urbanized area.
