LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) has passed a resolution extending its warmest congratulations to Police Chief Inspector Ryan Lopez Manongdo, currently chief of police of Asingan town, as one of the awardees nationwide in the MetroBank Foundation’s 2016 Search for the Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in Service (COPS).
The resolution proposed by Fifth District Board Member Rosary Gracia Perez-Tababa was approved in Monday’s regular session of the SP.
Manongdo, who also served as chief of police of Pozorrubio town and one time Police Community Relations Officer of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) and also its spokesman, was the only awardee in this year’s search from Northern Luzon.
Manongdo is a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).
For bagging the award, he was conferred with a gold medallion, trophy and cash prize amounting to P500,000.
The police station where he was assigned (Pozorrubio Police Station) has likewise received P40,000 worth of office equipment.
Manongdo is the son of spouses Pablo and Irene Manongdo, who worked hard for their family, considering that his father was a jeepney driver and his mother manages a “carenderia” (eatery).
The SP said that despite the hardship of life, Police Chief Inspector Manongdo was not discouraged to strive harder in life as he bravely faced trials and challenges, paving the way for his sterling performance as a police officer.
