LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Pangasinan police is now under full security alert following the explosion that rocked Davao City Friday nignt, killing 14 persons and wounding 71 others.
Senior Supt. Ronald O. Lee, acting Pangasinan Provincial Police Director, placed the province’s police under full security alert Saturday afternoon, few hours after the Davao explosion.
An intensified police presence was immediately conducted in 44 towns and four cities of the province through increased of foot/mobile patrols in order to ensure maximum public safety.
The police also established Police Assistance Desks/Centers and deployed personnel in convergence points particularly in bus terminals, malls,recreational areas including highways, main thoroughfares and crime-prone areas to ensure maximum security alertness.
At the same fime, the PPPO mobilized the community-based volunteers as force multipliers to help assist local police units in the maintenance of peace, public safety and traffic management.
Lee vowed the Police Provincial Office will do its best to ensure the safety of the people and the community.
“The Pangasinan Police Office, with its main role of ensuring peace and order in this province, has directed all police stations to be on highest security alert and to continue to maintain peace and neutralize all threats to security, protect the citizenry, enforcement of the law and maintaining the calmness in areas of responsibility,” Lee said.
He also directed all, police,stations to further focus on manhunt operations against drug suspects as peocided for in Oplan Double Barrel and romcarry on intelligence driven operations against criminal gangs and suspected threat groups.
