LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — The provincial government through the Pangasinan Provincial Library is holding starting today (April 18) a three-week Summer Workshop for children.
To last till May 20, the activity is intended to make the summer vacation of school children more fun and worthwhile.
The project was launched by the administration of Gov. Amado Espino Jr. since 2011 to improve the learning skills of children and increase their love for books.
Olivia Ganzon, a staff of the provincial library, speaking in behalf of Provincial Librarian Ma. Cynthia Encarnita F. Vila, said the project offers various activities like computer tutorial, story-telling, film viewing and paper origami-making.
The activities, she stressed, were designed to equip the participants with the necessary skills that they can use in their studies.
“We will try to make the children attending the workshop feel very much at home so that they can learn and enjoy at the same time,” she explained.
The participants are children from three to 15 years.
Session hours for two batches of participants from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the first batch; and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for the second batch.
A total of 127 enrollees are taking computer tutorial; 61, story-telling; 64, film-viewing; and 96, paper origami-making. PNA/northboundasia.com
