Pangasinan jail escapee captured in Lingayen market

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Aug. 13 — Police captured one of two inmates of the Pangasinan Provincial Jail who escaped at 9:25 a.m. on Saturday at the Lingayen Public Market.

Captured shortly after his escape was Dennis Buen, alias “Bisaya”, 27, of Barangay Mabini, Binmaley, Pangasinan, who is facing a case for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or illegal sale of dangerous drugs.

Still being hunted is Gender Arzadon, alias Piso, 22, of Mabini Street, also in Binmaley, who is also facing the same case.

Investigation showed the escapees were among six detention prisoners directed by four provincial jail guards on duty to bring out the garbage from the jail to be loaded into  a garbage truck outside the facility.

Buen and Arzadon went up the garbage truck to take the garbage which were handed by their fellow prisoners. They jumped out of the truck and fled when the jail guards were not looking.

The jail guards immediately coordinated with the Lingayen Police and launched a pursuit operation which led to Buen’s arrest inside the town’s public market.

Meanwhile, provincial jail guards and the police continue to hunt down Arzadon.
