Pangasinan farmers get certified seeds, fertilizers

ALAMINOS CITY, Pangasinan — Some 2,400 farmers from the towns and city in the first congressional district of Pangasinan province have received certified seeds and fertilizers at the Don Leopoldo Sison Convention Center here Friday.

Provincial Agriculturist Dalisay Moya, in her speech during the distribution, said the project has been funded with PHP10.2 million by the provincial government.

“This is a priority project of the province in support of the increasing agricultural productivity in Pangasinan under its agro-industrial program,” said Moya.

Among the recipients were farmers from the towns of Anda, Agno, Dasol, Infanta, Mabini, Bani, Burgos, Sual, and Alaminos City.

Governor Amado Espino III led the distribution, together with other government officials.

Espino, in his speech, urged the farmers to establish their cooperative to avail of discounts when they purchase farm equipment, and more projects from the provincial and national governments.
