SAN FERNANDO CITY–The Department of Agriculture has released P4-million to the provincial government for the Goat Multiplier Farm Project located at the La Union Breeding Station in Paraoir, Balaoan town.
To be implemented by the provincial veterinarian office, the project aims to establish a seed-bank for the production and growing of goats to be distributed to various livestock associations which underwent Farmers’ Livestock training and seminars in different municipalities in the province.

The money will be spent for the construction of a goat shed and repair of the administrative building as well as for the purchase of 92 heads of does (female goats) ; five heads of bucks (male goats) ; commercial feeds and other farm inputs.
Earlier, Provincial Administrator Dr. Geoffrey S. Tilan, Sr. turned-over 20 heads of does and one head of buck to the La Union Goat Raisers Association, the first beneficiary of the project.
The project is expected to generate additional farm outputs for La Union in 2016, especially the livestock sector to address the continuous demand for goat meat in Region 1. Ferdinand Buccat/ GPC
