P11-M Worth of Marijuana Plants, Seedlings Uprooted in Ilocos-Benguet Border




CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – Fully-grown marijuana plants and seedlings worth at least P11-million were uprooted and destroyed by joint elements of policemen and anti-narcotics agents during a two- day operations along the boundary of Sugpon, Ilocos Sur and Kibungan, Benguet.

 
Bismarck Bengwayan, information officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Region 1 reported that the marijuana plants were seized in seven plantation sites between Mt. Bauko and Mt. Natiktikan.

 

PDEA REGION 1




Bengwayan said that around 26, 000 fully- grown marijuana plants were uprooted and at least 5,000 seedlings were recovered while some of the dried plants were burned in the area.
 
Some of the plants were brought down by the operatives for proper documentation.
 
The joint elements of PDEA-1, PDEA-Cordillera, personnel from the Regional Public Safety 1, and policemen of the municipalities of Sugpon and Kibungan conducted the operations.
