SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Mario Ortega, gubernatorial candidate of the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan, has a platform of government that seeks to transform La Union into an agriculturally self-sufficient, first class province with a fully developed tourism infrastructure.
With almost 30 years in public service, it is assumed he knows the ins and outs of governance and should be a shoo-in in the conteste position. For that length of time also, he served as the alter-ego and point man of his brothers, Gov. Manuel Ortega and Representative Victor Ortega.
He has served as National Vice- President of the Liga ng mga Barangay and with vast experience in dealing with constituents because he shares their dreams for a better life.
In his gubernatorial bid, Mario seeks to deliver the basic services to the people such healthcare, education, peace and order.
He has a 7-point agenda that includes, among others, optimized agri-production and optimized aqua production; tourism product
development; employment, education; and peace and order.
“The peace and order in the locality is a priority. Even if you would concentrate on tourism if you do not have peace and order, it will not prosper. I still believe that the foundation of whatever we want to happen in La Union will be based on peace and order,” Mario said.
He said that promises are easy to make, but the ability to deliver is not. For Mario to be elected governor, La Union, the people will have a tried and tested executive who will deliver for his constituents. JUN ELIAS/northboundasia.com
