One-way traffic scheme in Cauayan City’s business district proposed

CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela — The City Public Order and Safety Office(CPOSO) is proposing a one-way traffic scheme in two streets near the city business district.

Antonio Delmendo, CPOSO head, said the traffic congestion is recorded near the newly-constructed Primark building where the said establishment has already opened to the public.

The Primark is now the new city market of Cauayan City where numerous business owners already occupied the stalls inside the building and now operational.

Delmendo said that the holiday season added to the two- way traffic problem thereby, recommeded a one-way traffic scheme to decongest, particularly the Cortez and Roxas streets.

City administrator Jose Abad, on the other hand, said that the proposed one -way traffic scheme needs to be submitted to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to prevent any disparity and any obstacles in implementation of such proposal.

He said the city government is hoping that the proposed traffic solution will be favorable to the said agency and exprcted to be implemented the soonest possible time.

Meanwhile, Mayor Bernard Faustino Dy lauded the officials who have crafted the proposed one-way traffic as a solution to the traffic problem in the city’s major streets near the business establishments.

He also lauded the discipline of tricycle drivers who are religiously following the traffic rules and regulations in the city and expected that the traffic discipline they possess will be emulated by other motorists plying the major city streets.
