‘ONE TIME-BIG TIME’ OPERATION VS. DRUGS NETS 3 SUSPECTS IN TARLAC

GERONA, Tarlac — Three suspected drug personalities were arrested in a ‘one time-big time’ operation conducted over the weekend in Barangays Ayson and Poblacion 3 of this municipality, according to town chief of police Supt. Ariel Red.

Red said his men, together with the Municipal Anti-Drugs Special Operation Task Group and Provincial Public Safety Company, arrested Darren Facun, 31, listed as drug personality in this town and yielded caliber-38 gun without serial number, 12 small sachets of suspected shabu, and other drug paraphernalia.

After the operation, the team proceeded right away in Barangay Poblacion 3 and served the search warrant for Erwine Cariaso, 36, also listed as wanted drug personality in this municipality.

However, during the implementation of the search warrant, his live-in partner Sherylle Gacias, 32, resisted and attempted to hurl a grenade towards the operatives.

However, PO2 Joseph Nunag swiftly grasped the grenade while Gacias was about to remove the electric tape wrapped on its safety lever.

Gacias was arrested while Cariaso was able to flee.

Another suspect Reynaldo Cancio of the same place, who was caught in the act of purchasing suspected shabu inside the house, was also nabbed by the operating team.

The suspects are now detained at Gerona Municipal Jail facing charges for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 and illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and explosives. PNA/northboundasia.com
